Quilt Show

Farmer's Country Store attended the Pickerington, Ohio, bicentennial quilt show this summer. Shirley and Margo had a great time and enjoyed visiting with all the quilters in the area. The most popular kit was the flannel Santa kit and panels from Northcott. We've reordered a bolt of each of the new panels and have the quilt samples made.

Sitting Pretty Quilt

Where does time go. It's been so long since I've let everyone know what's new at Farmer's Country Store. Christmas and Fall fabric lines are shipping and the girls are busy making samples using the new lines. I liked the quilt pattern "Sitting Pretty" so much, I ordered it two times. The pattern cover used fabric from the 30's. I selected fabrics from my pastel stash. Gives the pattern a whole different look. If you are quilter, we have plenty of patterns. The finished quilt as shown is available for $98.00.

Sorry about my sideways picture. I am still looking for the rotate picture button.

Happy sewing and hope you stop by Farmer's Country Store located in Lancaster, Ohio.

Flannel Fabric

If you're starting a flannel quilt for this coming winter, let us help. We are known for our flannel. We had a group of ladies attending a class in one of the large quilt shops in Columbus come here for their flannel. We carry the Moda brushed homespun flannel, Thimbleberries flannel, Northcott, along with other flannels. Many are not shown on our website. If you need a specific color or print type, I have taken a close-up picture and e-mailed to several quilters. This photo is about 1/4 of the flannels we have available.

Vintage Quilts

We are located in Lancaster, Ohio, home of General Sherman. The local historical society has restored his home and feature several historical events throughout the year. It is only fitting that here at Farmer's we have started purchasing more of the Civil War and historical prints thanks to companies like Windham and Marcus Brothers. Patty created a quick and easy quilt from the "Old Glory" collection by Windham. It is a circa 1850 fabric. Patty loves creating quilts with the vintage/civil war fabric. Patty created a quilt at Christmas time using some fabrics that were not selling very well and used them in a unique way that the fabric and kits flew out of the shop along with her quilt.

Be Attitudes Quilt of the Month

Norma has been busy creating a kit of the month from "Art to Heart". The book is entitled "Be Attitudes" The fusible applique quilt which reminds us of uplifting attitudes and values that can make our lives more enjoyable and beautiful. Norma has taken the teadious work of selecting so many fabrics for one quilt. Each month's block is well labeled and ready to fuse the applique and stitch by machine or hand using the blanket stitch. The kit may be purchased monthly or all twelve blocks, including the book, for $120.00. The book cover shows four narrow borders. These are optional. Cheri has purchased the kits. She's only using one small border and is hanging it over a bed in the grandkid's room.

If Norma receives four students, she will offer a monthly class. The quilt is on our opening page of www.farmerscountrystore.com.
